I was wondering why people on Halloween dislike older kids trick-or-treating. Is it wrong for older kids to continue the tradition that they learned as a little kid because that is what almost everyone has done at some point. I think that people don't like older kids trick-or-treating because they believe that they take advantage of being able to get free candy and sweets and do more tricks on others.
The idea of teenagers mooching candy and indirectly depriving children is of course objectionable to those who give out candy. I think that older kids can get candy as long as they actually have a costume that isn't too boring. And if their costume is boring, they should have a very clever explanation behind it. People also might think that teenagers roaming the streets at night is asking for trouble, and often it is.
